Pèppoli Chianti Classico DOCG

Pèppoli Chianti Classico DOCG
The Pèppoli Chianti Classico stands for what Sangiovese from the heart of Tuscany does best: fruit-forward freshness with enough structure to hold its own at the table.
The Antinori winery has been managing the Pèppoli estate since the 1980s in the Chianti Classico between Florence and Siena. The Antinori family is one of Italy's oldest wine dynasties – over 600 years of continuity, which one can feel in the consistency of the wines. Pèppoli is their accessible entry into the Classico zone, vinified for drinking pleasure and everyday suitability.
In the glass, it shows a clear ruby red with violet reflections. The nose brings ripe sour cherry and strawberry, plus a hint of violet and subtle roasted aromas. The aging – nine months in Slavonian oak – remains in the background: the tannins are soft and round, the acidity typical for Sangiovese, enlivening the finish without stinging.
Drinking temperature 16–18 °C. Best to drink now. Goes well with pasta al ragù, pizza from the wood-fired oven, grilled lamb, or an aged Pecorino Toscano.

Marchesi Antinori from Florence is one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in the world: the family has been cultivating wine continuously since 1385 and still owns and manages the company today. In 1971, Piero Antinori, together with oenologist Giacomo Tachis, laid the foundation for a revolution when he created Tignanello, the first Super Tuscan – a Sangiovese-Cabernet blend aged in barriques, which fundamentally changed the wine world. Today, Piero's daughters Albiera, Allegra, and Alessia manage the company, which owns approximately 1,200 hectares of vineyards in Tuscany, Umbria, Piedmont, Apulia, and California. At Antinori, tradition and bold innovation are not opposites, but rather the foundation of every single bottle.
