Markus Molitor Sample pack

There is no winemaker in the world who has received more awards than Markus Molitor. Here, we have put together six wines for you as a sample pack. It guides you through the Haus Klosterberg line from Markus Molitor, the entry into the range of one of the most famous wineries in the Middle Mosel. The winery is located in Wehlen and focuses on origin and craftsmanship, with Rieslings from steep slate slopes as its flagship.

The spectrum ranges from white to rosé to red. The core consists of two Rieslings that show the same origin in two styles. The Haus Klosterberg Riesling brings citrus zest, green apple, and a hint of white peach; the acidity is present. The off-dry version focuses on peach, citrus, and a touch of slate; the Mosel acidity balances the residual sweetness. In addition, Chardonnay, Pinot Blanc, and Pinot Noir Rosé show what the Mosel can do beyond Riesling. The Pinot Noir forms the red counterpart: sour cherry, raspberry, slender body, fine tannins.

Recommendation: Place the bottles side by side on an evening for two or with friends and taste your way through. The off-dry Riesling goes well with Asian cuisine, the Pinot Blanc with zander or asparagus, the rosé with grilled salmon. White wines and rosé taste best at 10–12 °C; serve the Pinot Noir slightly cooler than usual, for example with game poultry.
