CALOW is a Berlin-based startup founded in 2020 by Benno Orschulik and Markus Diekmann with the mission of reimagining Spritz. The inspiration came from Barcelona: a drink that was far too sweet and the personal desire to enjoy it in a lighter and more mindful way, without completely abstaining from alcohol. The result is a ready-to-drink fruit wine Spritz with 6% ABV, no added sugar, and up to 70% fewer calories than classic aperitifs – produced at a partner winery in the Palatinate/Rheinhessen region, vegan, and gluten-free.
