Product description

Six wines, one winery, one region: The Lentsch sample pack leads you right through the range of a family-run Burgenland estate – from a sparkling aperitif to a dry rosé wine. Weingut Lentsch (GesnbR) operates in the southern Burgenland and focuses on varietally pure, drinkable wines with regional character. The pack is suitable as an introduction to the Austrian wine country as well as a supplement for anyone who has only heard of Burgenland by hearsay.

The kick-off is the Grüner Veltliner – the Austrian flagship grape variety par excellence. White pepper, citrus zest, and green bell pepper in the glass, accompanied by a clearly structured, lively acidity: the varietal-typical "Pfefferl" that Veltliner fans worldwide know and appreciate. A wine that shows why hardly anyone outside of Austria manages this grape variety so convincingly.

Those who prefer it creamier should reach for the Lentsch Pinot Blanc: yellow apple, white peach, a hint of toasted almond. The texture is full-bodied, the acidity well-integrated – a white wine with substance that works just as well with asparagus dishes with hollandaise sauce or strong mountain cheese as it does as a standalone evening companion.

For lighter moments, Pinot Blanc and Welschriesling are ready. The Pinot Blanc brings ripe pear and white peach, while the Welschriesling – despite its name, an independent grape variety with no relation to the German Riesling – impresses with bright green apple aromas, crisp acidity, and a clean, dry finish. Both are best drunk young, uncomplicated, and well-chilled.

The Frizzante white sets the lightest exclamation mark in the pack: fine carbonation, bright citrus and stone fruit notes, lively acidity. Well-chilled to 7–9 °C, it is the ideal start to a summer evening – with bruschetta, summer salads, or simply on the terrace.

The conclusion is the Cabernet Franc Rosé: salmon-pink in the glass, with raspberry, red currant, and the herbal tone typical of Cabernet Franc. Dry, fresh, with a fruity finish – a rosé wine that brings more personality than most of its kind.

Pairs well with: Wiener Schnitzel, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, fried fish, risotto, goat cheese, mountain cheese, or a summery barbecue buffet – the pack covers the entire spectrum of light to medium-weight cuisine.

Six bottles from Burgenland that together paint a complete picture of a winery: from aperitif to rosé, from crisp and fresh to creamy and full-bodied. As a gift for Austria fans, as a supply for the next garden party, or as a personal journey of discovery through the diversity of an underestimated wine region.
