Product description

Five wines, one house, over 125 years of Rioja history: The Carlos Serres Sample pack provides a complete overview of the spectrum of Bodegas Carlos Serres — from fresh white to aged Gran Reserva. Founded in 1896 in Haro, the historic center of the Rioja Alta, the house combines traditional craftsmanship with a style that focuses on accessibility and reliability: calcareous-clay soils, Atlantic influence, and Tempranillo as the backbone of the red wines.

The entry point consists of two fresh styles: The Carlos Serres Blanco shows what Rioja can do beyond its red wines — pale straw yellow, citrus, green apple, crisp acidity, uncomplicated and direct. The Rosado complements the picture with a clear salmon pink, strawberry, red peach, and a hint of citrus zest — lively, with fresh acidity and a short finish. Both are well-suited as an aperitif or with light appetizers.

The heart of the pack is the classic Rioja aging progression: The Crianza brings ripe blackberry, plum, and the typical vanilla note from American oak — soft tannins, fruity-spicy style. The Reserva adds a layer: more structure, leather, a long spicy finish, at least three years of aging, including one year in barrels. The conclusion is the Carlos Serres Gran Reserva — legally at least 60 months of aging, dried cherry, vanilla, silky tannin. A Tempranillo that shows what long aging can achieve without exaggeration.

Pairs with: Tapas and seafood for the Blanco and Rosado, grilled lamb or chorizo for the Crianza, leg of lamb with herbs or Manchego for the Reserva, roast game or Ibérico ham for the Gran Reserva. The pack is suitable as an introduction to the world of Rioja, as a gift for Spain lovers, or for a structured evening with friends — five bottles that tell a complete story.
