Lentsch sampler pack

Product description
Six wines, one winery, one region: The Lentsch tasting package offers a comprehensive overview of the range of a family-run winery in Burgenland – from sparkling aperitifs to dry rosés. Weingut Lentsch (a partnership) operates in southern Burgenland and focuses on varietally pure, easy-drinking wines with a regional character. The package is ideal as an introduction to Austrian wine country, as well as a valuable addition for those who have only heard of Burgenland before.
\n\nThe tasting begins with Grüner Veltliner – Austria's quintessential flagship grape variety. White pepper, citrus zest, and green bell pepper in the glass, accompanied by a clearly structured, vibrant acidity: the characteristic peppery note that Veltliner fans worldwide know and appreciate. A wine that demonstrates why this grape variety is so difficult to produce convincingly outside of Austria.
\n\nFor those who prefer a creamier texture, the Lentsch Pinot Gris is the perfect choice: yellow apple, white peach, and a hint of roasted almond. The texture is full-bodied, the acidity well-integrated – a white wine with substance that works just as well with asparagus dishes with hollandaise sauce or strong mountain cheese as it does on its own as an evening wine.
\n\nFor lighter moments, Pinot Blanc and Welschriesling are available. The Pinot Blanc offers ripe pear and white peach, while the Welschriesling – despite its name, a distinct grape variety unrelated to German Riesling – impresses with bright green apple aromas, crisp acidity, and a clean, dry finish. Both are best enjoyed young, uncomplicated, and well-chilled.
\n\nThe Frizzante white wine makes the lightest statement of all the wines: delicate bubbles, bright citrus and stone fruit notes, and lively acidity. Well chilled to 7–9 °C, it's the perfect way to start a summer evening – with bruschetta, summer salads, or simply on its own on the patio.
\n\nThe tasting concludes with the Cabernet Franc Rosé : salmon-pink in the glass, with aromas of raspberry, red currant, and the herbal notes typical of Cabernet Franc. Dry, fresh, with a fruity finish – a rosé wine that possesses more personality than most of its kind.
\n\nThis goes well with: Wiener Schnitzel, asparagus with hollandaise sauce, fried fish, risotto, goat cheese, mountain cheese or a summer barbecue buffet – the package covers the entire range of light to medium-heavy cuisine.
\n\nSix bottles from Burgenland that together paint a complete picture of a winery: from aperitif to rosé, from crisp and fresh to creamy and full-bodied. A perfect gift for Austria enthusiasts, a great supply for your next garden party, or a personal journey of discovery through the diversity of an underrated wine region.
