Nat'Cool Primata Douro

Niepoort's Nat'Cool Primata is a Douro wine without a heavy-handed attitude: light-footed, fresh and intended for serving at a cool temperature.

Dirk Niepoort is one of Portugal's most influential winemakers – known for reimagining the Douro beyond Port and opulent red wines. The Nat'Cool line represents wines with low alcohol, minimal sulfur, and spontaneous fermentation. Native grape varieties such as Tinta Roriz, Touriga Franca, and Tinta Barroca from the Douro Superior form the basis.

A bright ruby red shines in the glass. The nose reveals red fruits – pomegranate, raspberry – and a hint of rose petal, along with a slightly wild, reductive note that quickly opens up in the glass. On the palate, it is juicy and elegant, with lively acidity, fine grip, and a piquant, spicy finish without any heaviness.
