Nat'Cool Bairrada Tinto

An uncomplicated red wine from Bairrada that shows what the often underestimated Baga grape variety can achieve when not burdened with too much wood or extraction.

Niepoort from the Douro has long since grown beyond the borders of Port wine. With the Nat'Cool line, Dirk Niepoort has created a series of fresh wines — vinified with little intervention, little sulfur, and much attention to fruit expression and drinking pleasure. The Bairrada, with its clay soils and Atlantic climate, provides the ideal basis for this.

In the glass, the wine shines in a bright, lively red. On the nose, fresh sour cherry, violet, and a hint of wild herbs. On the palate, light-footed with crisp acidity and subtle tannins — not a heavyweight, but a wine that invites you to have a second glass. The finish is short and clean with a delicate hint of fruit.
