#Clos d'Ora Bertrand 1er HK
Clos d'Ora is Gérard Bertrand's most personal wine — created at a place in the Languedoc that has captivated him since his first visit in 1997.
The estate is located in the heart of the Minervois, one of the oldest wine-growing regions in the Mediterranean. Bertrand, one of the best-known producers in the Languedoc, farms the Clos biodynamically: calcareous clay soils, old vines, and extreme summer heat tempered by the Tramontane wind. The cuvée combines Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Carignan — the classic grape varieties of the south.
In the glass, it shows a deep ruby red. On the nose, dark blackberry, lavender, and a hint of toasted spices. On the palate, full-bodied with velvety tannins, aromas of black olive, wild herbs, and a long, warm, spicy finish with a Mediterranean character. The wine carries the warmth and silence of the garrigue within it.
Serving suggestion: Serve at 16–18 °C. Pairs well with braised lamb with rosemary, wild boar ragout, or mature Pecorino. It gains complexity with some aging.
