Gérard Bertrand Cote des Roses Rosé
The Côte des Roses Rosé by Gérard Bertrand is arguably the best-known face of Languedoc rosé — with its striking bottle, the bottom of which is shaped like a rose, and a style that combines freshness and accessibility.
Gérard Bertrand is one of the defining winemakers of the Languedoc. On his biodynamically managed estates around Narbonne, he focuses on the classic southern French grape varieties of the Pays d'Oc. The Côte des Roses is made from Grenache, Cinsault, and Syrah — a trio responsible for the wine's fine color and aromatic profile.
In the glass, it shows a light salmon color. The nose brings fresh strawberry, white peach peel, and a light hint of rose water. On the palate, the wine is light-footed with a lively acidity, a touch of citrus freshness, and a short, clean finish. No wood, no sweetness — direct and uncomplicated.
Serving recommendation: Serve well-chilled at 8–10 °C. Goes well with grilled salmon, gazpacho, a goat cheese salad, or simply as an aperitif on the terrace.
