Domaine de l'Aigle Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir from the Languedoc sounds unusual — here it convinces through location. The vineyards of Domaine de l'Aigle are located at an altitude of up to 500 meters in the Haute Vallée de l'Aude, one of the coolest zones in the entire Languedoc. This altitude ensures long ripening times, distinct aromatics, and the freshness that Pinot Noir needs.

Behind the winery is Gérard Bertrand, one of the best-known winemakers in the south of France. Bertrand manages several domaines in the Languedoc-Roussillon and consistently relies on biodynamic methods. The Domaine de l'Aigle is his flagship for elegant, cool mountain wines from the Aude hinterland.

In the glass, the Pinot Noir shows aromas of red cherry and raspberry, underlaid by a hint of clove and fine undergrowth. The tannins are soft and well-integrated, the acidity lively without sharpness — typical for high-altitude Pinot. The finish is lingering and fruity, with a slightly mineral note in the aftertaste.
