Domaine de l'Aigle Pinot Noir

Pinot Noir from the Languedoc sounds unusual—here, it truly shines thanks to its location. The vineyards of Domaine de l'Aigle lie at altitudes of up to 500 meters in the Haute Vallée de l'Aude , one of the coolest areas of the entire Languedoc. This high altitude ensures long ripening periods, pronounced aromatics, and the freshness that Pinot Noir requires.

Behind the winery is Gérard Bertrand , one of the most renowned winemakers in southern France. Bertrand manages several estates in Languedoc-Roussillon, consistently employing biodynamic methods. Domaine de l'Aigle is his flagship estate for elegant, cool-climate wines from the Aude hinterland.

In the glass, the Pinot Noir displays aromas of red cherry and raspberry , underpinned by a hint of clove and fine undergrowth. The tannins are soft and well-integrated, the acidity lively without harshness—typical of high-altitude Pinot Noir. The finish is lingering and fruity, with a slightly mineral note at the end.
