La Soujeole

A powerful red wine from the heart of the Languedoc — structured, dark fruity and with the typical depth of the region.

Château La Soujeole is located in the Malepère appellation near Carcassonne, one of the cooler corners of the Languedoc. Gérard Bertrand, the region's most renowned wine producer, has taken over the estate and, as with all his properties, practices biodynamic farming. The combination of Atlantic and Mediterranean influences gives this appellation its distinctive character: more freshness and elegance than in the hot coastal Languedoc.

In the glass, it displays a deep ruby red color. This blend of Merlot, Cabernet Franc, and Malbec opens with aromas of black plum, blackberry, and a hint of graphite. On the palate, ripe, well-integrated tannins, medium to full body, and a subtle spiciness on the finish. Not a heavy Languedoc behemoth, but a wine with a clear, defined character.
