#Clos d'Ora Bertrand 1er HK
Clos d'Ora is Gérard Bertrand's most personal wine — created in a place in the Languedoc that has captivated him since his first visit in 1997.
The winery lies in the heart of the Minervois, one of the oldest wine-growing regions in the Mediterranean. Bertrand, one of the most renowned producers in the Languedoc, cultivates the Clos biodynamically: calcareous clay soils, old vines, and extreme summer heat tempered by the Tramontane wind. The blend combines Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre, and Carignan—the classic grape varieties of the South.
In the glass, it displays a deep ruby red color. The nose offers dark blackberry, lavender, and a hint of roasted spices. On the palate, it is full-bodied with velvety tannins, aromas of black olive, wild herbs, and a long, warm, spicy finish with a Mediterranean character. The wine embodies the warmth and tranquility of the garrigue.
Serving suggestion: Serve at 16–18 °C. Pairs well with braised lamb with rosemary, wild boar ragout, or mature Pecorino cheese. Drinking window 2024–2032 — it gains complexity with some aging.
