Chablis 1er Cru Fourneaux La Chablisienne

A Chablis Premier Cru from the appellation's most climatically influenced vineyard: The Fourneaux site lies on the eastern edge of the Chablis heartland, where the Kimmeridge limestone is particularly close to the surface. This gives the Chardonnay here its characteristic tension between fruit and minerality.

La Chablisienne is one of Burgundy's most important cooperatives — founded in 1923, it now comprises around 300 winegrowing families and has access to some of the appellation's best vineyards. The grapes for this Premier Cru come from the characteristic Kimmeridge soils, which give the wine its typical salinity and length.

In the glass, it displays a bright golden yellow. The nose offers aromas of white pear, citrus peel, and a hint of green apple, with a subtle flinty note underneath—the typical hallmark of this vineyard. On the palate, it boasts firm, well-integrated acidity, medium body, and a long, mineral-spiced finish.

Serving suggestion: 10–12 °C, best enjoyed by 2027. Pairs well with scallops with butter sauce, grilled sea bass or a mature goat cheese.

Castel Châteaux & Grands Crus

It would have been easier to rest on their laurels. But the Castell family thinks ahead. They preserve their expertise, pass on their passion to the next generation, and cultivate their châteaux and estates with joy and vision. For them, wine is more than a product: it's about culture. About sharing knowledge, exchanging ideas with chefs, sommeliers, and all those who love good taste. Producing regional wines and Grands Crus is one thing. Another is keeping nothing to themselves. Sustainably, responsibly, and with heart. Because at Castel Châteaux & Grands Crus, they live by the conviction that wine must follow its own vision. Persistently, boldly, and with a flame that carries on – from generation to generation.
