St. Magdalener DOC

St. Magdalener is one of the classic South Tyrolean red wines – light-bodied, aromatic, and with a distinctive alpine spiciness. Terlan, one of South Tyrol's most renowned wine cooperatives, produces it from Vernatsch grapes with a touch of Lagrein, grown on the slopes around the wine village of St. Magdalena, north of Bolzano.

On the nose, it displays violets and red cherries, complemented by a delicate almond and nutty note typical of well-ripened Vernatsch grapes. On the palate, it is light and smooth, with soft tannins and a fresh acidity. The finish is short to medium-long and pleasantly dry.

An uncomplicated companion for everyday life: Served at 16–18 °C , ready to drink now. Pairs well with South Tyrolean speck, grey cheese, grilled poultry, or pasta with tomato sauce.

Cantina Terlan

Since 1893, the Terlan winery in the South Tyrolean Adige Valley has stood for something that has become rare in modern viticulture: patience. What 24 winegrowers once founded as a cooperative is today one of the most renowned addresses in alpine viticulture. The house's philosophy focuses on long lees aging and consistent quality instead of quantity. Terlan proves that white wines from volcanic porphyry soil and an alpine microclimate can be among the longest-lived in the world.
