The Cariñena region is one of Spain's oldest wine-growing areas and gave its name to the grape variety of the same name – also known internationally as Carignan. Located southwest of Zaragoza, the region's wines are characterized by a continental climate with hot, dry summers and cold winters. The considerable altitude ensures cool nights, which, despite the intense sunshine, impart a pleasant freshness and vibrant structure to the wines.

Wines from the Cariñena region – powerful, honest, affordable
Cariñena lies in the heart of Aragón, around 50 kilometers south of Zaragoza, and belongs to the oldest wine regions of Spain. The continental climate with hot summers, cold winters, and little rainfall noticeably shapes the wines: The red wines often show body and warmth, the white wines benefit from the altitude and cool nights, which preserve their freshness.
Garnacha is the soul of this region. The grape variety feels particularly comfortable in the dry, stony soils of Cariñena and delivers red wines with ripe fruit character and pleasant warmth. Besides this, fresh white wines are also created here, for example from Chardonnay or Viura.
