Jabalí Tempranillo-Cabernet forms complex aromas on the nose. Mint notes and hints of wood provide for an exciting wine. The tannin is attractively integrated. The aftertaste is long, characterized by a mixture of fruit, floral hints, and a touch of licorice.
The Bodega Virgen del Aguila is one of the most dynamic operations in Cariñena and was named the "second-best winery in Aragón" in 2010 by the "Academia Aragonesa de Gastronomía"!
The name of the bodega is derived from the revered Mother of God "with the eagle." Paniza, the place where the bodega is located, lies in the foothills of the Sierra Paniza mountain range, which is over 1000 meters high. The eagle is still at home there today. Cariñena was already an important wine-growing region in the old Kingdom of Aragón.
Modernity and tradition exist side by side, and the youthful Agostón wines meet modern, trendy as well as traditional demands: they are fresh, accessible, full of juiciness, and drinking pleasure. Simply uncomplicated wines at a high level, which one rarely finds in Cariñena. Virgen del Aguila has used exclusively new wood for both red wines, which creates a perfect harmony with the very pronounced youthful fruit aromas.
The wine was aged in a wooden fermentation tank.
