Bodegas Paniza –
Strength and freshness from the highlands of Aragon
Bodegas Paniza is located in the town of the same name at the foot of the Sierra Paniza , a mountain range in the heart of Aragon that rises to over 1000 meters. The altitude noticeably influences the wines: cooler nights and intense sunshine during the day result in grapes with natural freshness and concentrated fruit. Cariñena, one of the oldest wine regions in Spain, was already renowned for its viticulture in the ancient Kingdom of Aragon.
The winery combines this historical heritage with a modern approach. The Agostón line stands for uncomplicated, approachable wines with genuine juiciness – fresh in style without sacrificing depth. For the Virgen del Aguila red wines, the winery uses only new oak, which doesn't mask the pronounced youthful fruitiness of the grapes but rather brings it into harmonious balance.
Anyone familiar with Cariñena knows that wines of this freshness and approachability are not a given there. Bodegas Paniza delivers precisely that – red wines that can be opened without a special occasion, yet clearly reflect their origin and craftsmanship.
