Almansa – powerful red wines from the Castilian highlands
Almansa is located in southeastern Spain, where Castile-La Mancha meets the Levante. The highlands produce red wines known for their power, depth, and dark fruit – honest wines with character that do not make a big fuss about themselves. The main variety of the region is Garnacha Tintorera, a variety of Garnacha with unusually dark flesh, which gives the wines their typical color and fullness.
