Casa Carmela Semi-Dulce Tinto

Casa Carmela Semi-Dulce Tinto
Casa Carmela Semi-Dulce Tinto is a semi-dry, easy-drinking red wine from the Spanish region of Yecla in Murcia, produced by Bodegas Castaño. It is a blend of Monastrell (Mourvèdre) and a portion of Syrah or Garnacha, and displays a deep, rich, dark red color with a rich sheen in the glass.
The wine has an intense aroma of blackberries, blueberries, wild berries, and ripe cherries, complemented by subtle mineral and herbal notes. On the palate, the semi-dulce tinto is full-bodied, soft, and smooth, with a pleasant residual sweetness, clearly noticeable but well-balanced acidity, and fine tannins. The finish is long, berry-like, and slightly spicy, with a harmonious interplay of fruit and spice.
With an alcohol content of approximately 12.5% ABV, it is ideally served at 14–16 °C – slightly chilled as an aperitif or with grilled meats, spicy lamb, tapas, or mild to medium-sharp cheeses. As a fruity, approachable red wine, it is particularly suitable for uncomplicated moments of enjoyment and should preferably be drunk young.

Bodegas Castaño – a family story that began with Ramón Castaño Santa. In the 1950s, he produced his first wines and recognized the potential of the Monastrell grape early on. Today, the family cultivates almost 500 hectares around Yecla in southeastern Spain. Intense sun, demanding soils – you can taste it: depth, warmth, character. Monastrell is their passion. Dark, full-bodied, ripe berries, velvety finish. From fresh young wines to mature barrel-aged wines from ancient vines. Some are certified organic. Wine with history and surprises.
