Casa Carmela Dulce Tinto

Casa Carmela Dulce Tinto
Casa Carmela Dulce Tinto is a sweet red wine from the Spanish region of Yecla DO (Murcia) produced by Bodegas Castaño , designed especially as a sweet "dessert tinto" or to accompany hearty dishes. It is usually made from a blend of Monastrell (Mourvèdre) and Syrah and displays a rich, dark red color with deep purple reflections.
The Tinto combines a pronounced sweetness with juicy, ripe fruit, with aromas of blackberry, black cherry, blueberry, and jammy berry notes taking center stage. The nose is aromatic and inviting, while on the palate the wine is full-bodied, smooth, and well-structured, with soft tannins, low acidity, and a pleasant spiciness in the mid-finished note.
Casa Carmela Dulce Tinto is served slightly chilled at around 16–18 °C – both as an accompaniment to chocolate desserts, cheese (especially blue cheese or mature cheese), pâtés or spicy lamb with raisins , and as a sweet wine to enjoy “solo”.
It is typically a young, approachable red wine with a moderate alcohol content (around 12.5% ABV) and should be drunk young.

Bodegas Castaño – a family story that began with Ramón Castaño Santa. In the 1950s, he produced his first wines and recognized the potential of the Monastrell grape early on. Today, the family cultivates almost 500 hectares around Yecla in southeastern Spain. Intense sun, demanding soils – you can taste it: depth, warmth, character. Monastrell is their passion. Dark, full-bodied, ripe berries, velvety finish. From fresh young wines to mature barrel-aged wines from ancient vines. Some are certified organic. Wine with history and surprises.
