Vintage Port Quinta Bom Retiro 19.5% vol individually in a decorative box 0.75L
A Vintage Port that is only bottled in exceptional years: The Quinta do Bom Retiro from Ramos Pinto shows what the Douro can achieve in its best parcels — concentrated, complex, with the structure of a wine that needs time and gives time.
Ramos Pinto is one of the most traditional houses in the Douro Valley and manages the Quinta do Bom Retiro as one of its flagship sites. The 2023 harvest began as early as August 28th — early, but controlled — and lasted until September 22nd. It was bottled 18 months after the harvest, a period that allows the wine to develop initial depth without fixing it prematurely.
In the glass, ruby red with a violet shimmer. On the nose, dark berry fruits — blackberry, black cherry — underpinned by cocoa, dried herbs, and a hint of violet. On the palate, dense but still youthful tannins, carried by the typical Douro warmth and a well-embedded sweetness. The finish is long, spicy, with a hint of dark chocolate.
Best served at 16–18 °C — with blue cheese like Gorgonzola or Stilton, with dark chocolate, or with a walnut cake. Also a worthy conclusion on its own after a meal. The decorative box makes it a fitting gift for people who take Port wine seriously.

The Ramos Pinto winery dates back to 1880, when Adriano Ramos Pinto laid the foundation for the wine production that bears his name. The estate developed rapidly and achieved worldwide renown – not least thanks to its membership in the Roederer Group. After business flourished in its home country of Portugal, exports to the Brazilian market began. Today, Frédéric Rouzaud manages the winery, continuing the tradition of five successful generations.
