Tawny 20 Year Old 20.5% vol Quinta Do Bom Retiro

A Tawny Port that shows what twenty years of oxidative aging in small wooden barrels can do for a Quinta do Bom Retiro cuvée. Ramos Pinto is one of the most traditional houses in the Douro Valley — founded in 1880, with its own quintas and a clear focus on aged Tawny styles.

In the glass, it glows in deep amber with an orange rim — typical for this aging period. Aromas of dried fig, walnut, caramel, and a hint of cinnamon bark. The texture is round and oily, the finish long with a fine bitterness. Serving temperature: 14–16 °C. Once opened, it keeps easily for several weeks.

Classic with dessert: crème brûlée, walnut cake, or blue cheese like Roquefort. Also neat as a digestif after a long evening — then in a small port wine glass that concentrates the aromas.

The Quinta

Ramos Pinto

The Ramos Pinto winery dates back to the year 1880. At that time, Adriano Ramos Pinto laid the foundation for the wine production named after him. The estate developed rapidly and achieved great fame worldwide - not least thanks to its membership in the Roederer Group.

After business in the home country of Portugal was running perfectly, they began exporting to the Brazilian market. Today, Frédéric Rouzaud manages the fortunes of the winery and thus continues the tradition of five successful generations.
