Here at the heel of the Italian boot, Italy's most renowned wine guide praises, the local grape varieties produce "exactly the wines that the market demands today: the powerful, full-fruited Primitivo, for example, or the warm, complex Negroamaro, which is characterized by a lot of structure and high aging potential. The grapes for Terre di Montelusa Brindisi Riserva come from selected sites in the Apulian region of Brindisi DOC. The barren soils, old vines, and an ideal climate provide highly aromatic grapes. The Negroamaro grape, which defines this wine, is also the most important grape variety in the region.

How does the Terre di Montelusa Brindisi Riserva taste?
The Negroamaro from the Brindisi DOC is opulent and intensely aromatic, yet not heavy: ripe dark fruit, a velvety-soft wood note after 12 months of oak aging, and a harmoniously rounded finish.
Is this a dry red wine?
Yes, completely dry. The residual sugar is in the dry range — in the glass, it seems full-bodied due to the ripe fruit and the wood aging, without sweetness.
What does the wine pair best with?
Classically with hearty dishes: leg of lamb, game ragù, grilled steak, or braised veal. It also pairs well with pasta with meat sauce — the structure of the Negroamaro stands up to the fat.
At what temperature should I serve it?
16–18 °C — i.e., slightly cooler than room temperature. In summer, it is worth putting it in the fridge for 30 minutes before opening so that the fruit does not disappear behind the alcohol.
How long does the opened bottle last?
Well sealed, it will keep for two to three days after opening. The structure and the wood aging contribute to this — on the second day, it can even open up a bit more.
The Winery
Botter is an Italian winery founded in 1928 by Carlo Botter. Today, it is managed by the third generation, located approximately 30 km northeast of Venice on the Piave River. In total, the winery offers more than 160 hectares of vineyards, which are distributed across two locations.
These are Divici and La Di Motta, the former being the newer location. Divici has a state-of-the-art cellar with a storage capacity of approx. 500,000 liters. The grape varieties cultivated by the winery include Primitivo, Nero d'Avola, Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera, or Sangiovese.
