Salice Salentino Riserva DOC Il Tauro

From the extreme south of Italy (the heel of the boot), Salento, comes this expressive red wine, which ages excellently and develops an elegance and variety of aroma unusual for a southern wine over time.

The vineyards of the DOC area Salice Salentino benefit from the proximity of the Adriatic and Ionian Seas, which moderate the hot climate. Here, noble, indigenous grape varieties are cultivated under strict yield restrictions in order to maintain the high quality of the wines. Through the selection of the vines and the most careful care in the cultivation and development of the wines, astonishing results are achieved.

The Salice Salentino Riserva DOC Il Tauro corresponds to the changed taste of the wine drinker, who prefers the powerful southern red wine types to the lighter, fruity ones from northern Italy.

The Winery

Botter

Botter is an Italian winery founded in 1928 by Carlo Botter. Today, it is managed by the third generation, located approximately 30 km northeast of Venice on the Piave River. In total, the winery offers more than 160 hectares of vineyards, which are distributed across two locations.

These are Divici and La Di Motta, the former being the newer location. Divici has a state-of-the-art cellar with a storage capacity of approx. 500,000 liters. The grape varieties cultivated by the winery include Primitivo, Nero d'Avola, Negroamaro, Malvasia Nera, or Sangiovese.
