Appassimento sampler pack

Product description
Appassimento is not a passing trend, but a thousands-of-years-old Italian technique: grapes are dried after harvest, losing water, gaining concentration — and transforming into wines with a velvety texture, dark fruit, and a depth rarely expected at this price point. This pack brings together six bottles from four regions: Apulia, Sicily, Veneto, and the Languedoc in the south of France. A stylistic comparison that shows how differently the same method can taste.
Torrevento from Apulia makes a double start: The as, if! Appassimento Primitivo brings candied orange peel, Amarena cherry, and coffee spice to the glass — full-bodied, with a long finish. Those who prefer something a bit more accessible can reach for the Passione Reale from the same producer: blackberry, elderberry, and black cherry at only 13% ABV, velvety and juicy without being heavy. Torrevento has been cultivating its vineyards on the Murgia plateau for decades and is considered one of the most reliable Appassimento producers in the region.
From the Languedoc comes the Rondeur Appassimento by La Grange — proving that the technique also works beyond the Alps. Dark currant, freshly chopped raisins, rosemary, and thyme on the nose, plus peppery spice and a fine barrique finish with vanilla and milk chocolate. Garrigue character that clearly distinguishes itself from the Apulian style.
Pairs well with: Pasta al ragù, braised leg of lamb, wild boar salami, mature Pecorino, or a strong goat cheese. Those who open the wines side-by-side will get a precise impression of how origin and grape variety each uniquely shape the Appassimento method. Six bottles, one common thread — ideal as a gift for wine enthusiasts or as a stock for the next evening with friends when more than one bottle is opened.
