"Cuvée No 1"
Klumpp's Cuvée No 1 shows what the Kraichgau region can do: a red cuvée wine with drinkability, depth and the typical Burgundian style of the winery.
The Klumpp winery from Bruchsal-Heidelsheim is one of the most reliable wineries in the Kraichgau region. The family cultivates their vineyards with a clear focus on elegance rather than quantity – an approach that is evident in the glass.
On the nose, a herbaceous, fresh berry bouquet: mixed berries, ripe cherry, a hint of black pepper, and floral notes. On the palate, the wine displays juicy, clearly defined fruit with lively acidity and a delicate touch of residual sweetness. The tannins are silky and barely perceptible. Herbal notes, a hint of wood spice and smoke, and a subtle minerality linger in the background. The finish remains sweet and juicy, with a final touch of bread spice—lingering and beautifully balanced.
Serving temperature: 16–17 °C. Pairs well with pasta with tomato and herb sauce, grilled chicken, or a piece of tangy mountain cheese. A wine for a relaxed weeknight evening.
