Riesling

Klumpp from Bruchsal in northern Baden produces this Riesling with a clear profile: ripe stone fruit, lively freshness and a fine structure that is not heavy-handed.

The winery has been working in the Kraichgau region, one of Baden's warmer wine-growing areas, for decades. The Keuper and loess soils shape a Riesling style that focuses more on juiciness and approachability than on cool minerality—ripe, direct, and easy to drink.

In the glass, the wine opens with aromas of apricot and peach, accompanied by a hint of wildflowers. On the palate, it displays a compact, dense body with a subtle extract sweetness in the background—not a cloying residual sugar, but a smooth texture that supports the fruit. The acidity remains lively and invigorating, and the finish lingers for several seconds with a stone fruit aftertaste.

Freshness and minerality pure - ideal summer wine

This Riesling is one of the lighter variety (and doesn't taste *soooo* intensely like Riesling), but it also delights connoisseurs who are otherwise not so fond of Riesling. Of course, the wine is ...

Klumpp

The Klumpp winery in Bruchsal is one of Baden's leading estates. Founded in 1983 by Ulrich and Marietta Klumpp, newcomers to the wine industry, they converted the business to organic viticulture as early as 1996 – pioneers of the organic movement in Germany. Today, the brothers Markus and Andreas Klumpp run the estate in its second generation. The vineyards stretch around Bruchsal in the Rothenberg and Weiherberg sites. The soil: a mosaic of shell limestone, Keuper marl, loess, and clay marl – ideal for characterful wines with a fine minerality. Known especially for its Pinot Noir, Klumpp regularly receives top ratings from Gault-Millau, Eichelmann, and Falstaff. Tradition meets modernity – wines full of clarity and authenticity.
