Riesling Sparkling Wine Brut

Riesling as sparkling wine — the Klumpp winery demonstrates what's possible when precise cellar work meets a characterful grape variety. For everyone who appreciates bubbles with real substance.

The nose is cool and invigorating: fresh apple, salty air, dried herbs, grapefruit. On the palate, a stable, fine perlage, lively and direct. Plenty of stone fruit, clear citrus, a salty impulse in the mid-palate, slight bitterness. Only in the finish does a subtle extract sweetness emerge, rounding off the dry character without softening it.

At 7–9 °C as an aperitif or as an accompaniment: Flammkuchen with crème fraîche, goat cheese or fried sea bass.

Klumpp

The Klumpp winery in Bruchsal is one of Baden's leading estates. Founded in 1983 by Ulrich and Marietta Klumpp, newcomers to the wine industry, they converted the business to organic viticulture as early as 1996 – pioneers of the organic movement in Germany. Today, the brothers Markus and Andreas Klumpp run the estate in its second generation. The vineyards stretch around Bruchsal in the Rothenberg and Weiherberg sites. The soil: a mosaic of shell limestone, Keuper marl, loess, and clay marl – ideal for characterful wines with a fine minerality. Known especially for its Pinot Noir, Klumpp regularly receives top ratings from Gault-Millau, Eichelmann, and Falstaff. Tradition meets modernity – wines full of clarity and authenticity.
