Gérard Bertrand Ballerine Crémant de Limoux AOP

Gérard Bertrand Ballerine Crémant de Limoux AOP
A rosé Crémant from Limoux in southern France – one of the oldest sparkling wine appellations in France, already known for its semi-sparkling wines in the 16th century. Gérard Bertrand's Ballerine demonstrates what the Languedoc region is capable of beyond still red wines.
Gérard Bertrand is one of the most renowned wineries in the Languedoc: vineyards spread throughout the region, biodynamic farming on a large portion of the land, and a clear commitment to the local appellations. Their Crémant de Limoux AOP requires at least nine months of lees aging in the bottle – significantly more than the EU minimum requirements for sparkling wine.
In the glass, it shines a bright salmon pink with fine, persistent bubbles. The nose offers red currant, peach, and a hint of yeasty pastry – classic signs of bottle aging. On the palate, it is fresh and lively, with a crisp acidity that keeps the finish dry and refreshing.
