Gamla Sauvignon Blanc

A Sauvignon Blanc that shows what cool high altitudes can get out of this grape variety: lively, aromatically precise, with a clear structure.

The Golan Heights Winery is located in the northeast of Israel, on the plateau of the Golan Heights at an altitude of 400 to 1,200 meters. The large temperature differences between day and night slow down ripening and preserve the natural acidity of the grapes. The winery is considered one of the defining addresses for high-quality Israeli wine – the Gamla is their accessible, everyday line.

In the glass, the wine shows aromas of guava and lime, plus freshly cut grass and a mineral hint of flint on the finish. Cold fermentation at low temperatures secures the fruit aromas and keeps the acid structure lively – the result is a white wine with drive and freshness that does not appear heavy.

Serving temperature: 8–10 °C. Pairs well with grilled sea bass, goat cheese salads, hummus with fresh herbs, or light pasta dishes with lemon sauce. Also a good choice as an uncomplicated aperitif.

Golan Heights Winery

Golan Heights Winery – vineyards north of the Sea of Galilee, at altitudes between 400 and 1,100 meters. Volcanic soils, a cool climate – ideal conditions for wine. In 1983, four kibbutzim and moshavim joined forces and founded the winery in Katzrin. In 1992, winemaker Victor Schoenfeld joined, bringing experience from France and America. His influence contributed significantly to its success. The award-winning Yarden line is adorned with a mosaic-decorated oil lamp. "Yarden" – the Hebrew word for Jordan. A wine region that surprises and delights.
