Yarden Merlot

A structured Merlot from one of the world's most surprising wine regions: the Golan Heights, where volcanic basalt soil and cool altitudes of 400–1200 meters provide unusual freshness in a climate that is actually warm.

Since its founding in 1983 , Golan Heights Winery has been considered a pioneer of modern Israeli quality wine. Under the Yarden brand—named after the Jordan River—the winery vinifies grapes from its own vineyards in the Golan Heights. All wines are kosher (Kosher Lamehadrin, Kosher for Passover, certified by Rabbi Avraham D. Oyerbach, Tiberias).

In the glass, the Merlot displays dark plum and ripe black cherry, along with a hint of orange zest and Mediterranean herbs. The body is full and rounded, the tannins soft enough for early enjoyment, yet with sufficient structure for two to four years of aging. The finish is medium-long and slightly spicy.
