Mount Hermon Indigo

Mount Hermon Indigo
An approachable red wine from the Golan Heights — robust enough for the barbecue, lively enough for everyday use.
Golan Heights Winery is one of Israel's most renowned wineries. The vineyards at the foot of Mount Hermon lie at altitudes of up to 1,200 meters—the cool climate slows down ripening, preserves acidity, and imparts more freshness than one would expect from a red wine from this region. The Mount Hermon Indigo is the winery's approachable line: simply vinified and intended for early drinking.
In the glass, this blend of Cabernet Sauvignon and Syrah displays aromas of black cherry and ripe plum, with hints of tobacco and Mediterranean herbs in the background. Medium-bodied, with soft tannins and a good balance between fruit and spice. Not a wine for long aging—but one that's enjoyable right now.
Drinking recommendation: Now until 2026. Serving temperature 16–18 °C. Pairs well with grilled lamb, köfte, shakshuka with feta or a spicy lentil stew.
Kosher Lamehadrin, Kosher for Passover — certified by Rabbi Avraham D. Oyerbach, Tiberias (according to EU Communication C375/05).

Golan Heights Winery – vineyards north of the Sea of Galilee, at altitudes between 400 and 1,100 meters. Volcanic soils, a cool climate – ideal conditions for wine. In 1983, four kibbutzim and moshavim joined forces and founded the winery in Katzrin. In 1992, winemaker Victor Schoenfeld joined, bringing experience from France and America. His influence contributed significantly to its success. The award-winning Yarden line is adorned with a mosaic-decorated oil lamp. "Yarden" – the Hebrew word for Jordan. A wine region that surprises and delights.
