Pernand-Vergelesses Les Vergelesses Premier Cru

The Pernand-Vergelesses Les Vergelesses Premier Cru is the quiet discovery of Domaine Chanson – the traditional Beaune estate founded in 1750, now part of the Bollinger Group. With a substantial 5.4 hectares, Chanson is one of the largest owners of this Premier Cru vineyard, which stretches across a depression at the southern foot of the Corton hill – between 250 and 350 meters above sea level, on a combination of clay and limestone that produces wines of exceptional density and minerality.

Only the highest quality parcels are bottled as Premier Cru – the rest goes into the Villages line, a quiet testament to selection. The 100% Pinot Noir grapes are gently processed and aged for 18 months in traditional 228-liter barrels.

A dark violet-red in the glass. The nose opens with ripe cherries, currants, and blackberries, complemented by spices and subtle roasted notes. On the palate, it is complex and powerful, with a dense texture, solid tannin structure, and a long, rich finish.

Served at 16–18 °C with 13.0% ABV, aging potential until 2036. An ideal accompaniment to game birds, saddle of venison and mature Époisses – precise, profound and a true insider tip from the Côte de Beaune.

Domaine Chanson

Domaine Chanson, founded in 1750, is one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in Burgundy. It is among the few estates that have survived since the 18th century. Since 1999, it has been part of the Bollinger Group, which has undertaken extensive restorations and modernizations to make the winery one of the finest in Burgundy. Nestled amidst picturesque hills, the 45 hectares of vineyards flourish in the most prestigious appellations, including Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune, and Chablis. Here, tradition and modernity blend seamlessly, creating a unique symbiosis that imparts a distinctive character to each wine. The historic Bastion, a 15th-century wine cellar, is the heart of the estate. Within these venerable walls, the wines mature to true perfection under ideal conditions. Each bottle tells a story of dedication and craftsmanship.
