Domaine Chanson Beaune Clos des Fèves Monopole Premier Cru

Domaine Chanson Beaune Clos des Fèves Monopole Premier Cru
The Clos des Fèves is one of the few true monopoly sites in Beaune: 3.8 hectares, entirely in the hands of Domaine Chanson, in the middle of the Premier Cru sites of the Côte de Beaune. A site with history – first documented as early as 1307 under the Latin name "Fae".
Domaine Chanson is one of the oldest négociant houses of the Côte d'Or (founded 1750) and is based in the historic fortifications of Beaune. The domaine farms around 45 hectares, with a special focus on Premier and Grand Cru plots in Beaune and Pommard.
In the glass, this Pinot Noir shows a clear ruby color with violet reflections. On the nose, sour cherry and raspberry, plus a hint of white pepper and fine cedar wood from barrel aging. On the palate, medium body, silky tannins, and a lively acidity structure – typical for Beaune Premier Cru. The finish is long, spicy, with a mineral note.
Serving recommendation: Serving temperature 16–17 °C. Pairs with duck breast with cherry sauce, Coq au Vin, or mature Époisses.

Domaine Chanson, founded in 1750, is one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in Burgundy. It is among the few estates that have survived since the 18th century. Since 1999, it has been part of the Bollinger Group, which has undertaken extensive restorations and modernizations to make the winery one of the finest in Burgundy. Nestled amidst picturesque hills, the 45 hectares of vineyards flourish in the most prestigious appellations, including Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune, and Chablis. Here, tradition and modernity blend seamlessly, creating a unique symbiosis that imparts a distinctive character to each wine. The historic Bastion, a 15th-century wine cellar, is the heart of the estate. Within these venerable walls, the wines mature to true perfection under ideal conditions. Each bottle tells a story of dedication and craftsmanship.
