Savigny lès Beaune Dominode Premier Cru

Savigny-lès-Beaune Dominode Premier Cru – Domaine Chanson

This Premier Cru from the heart of the Côte de Beaune is for all those who wish to experience Burgundian Pinot Noir in its most elegant and characterful form. The Dominode vineyard – its name derives from the Latin "Dominus" and refers to the former lord of Savigny – is one of the special single vineyards of the Savigny-lès-Beaune appellation.

The vineyard faces northeast on a moderate slope, which lends the wine a cool precision and structured depth. In the glass, it displays a bright ruby red color. On the nose, aromas of cooked red fruits – ripe strawberries, cherries, raspberries – unfold, interwoven with spicy notes and a delicate hint of vanilla.

On the palate, the Dominode is balanced and firm. The tannins are fine and well-integrated, the texture precise. The finish is long, spicy, and concludes with an elegant fruitiness.

  • Appellation: Savigny-lès-Beaune Premier Cru
  • Winery: Domaine Chanson, Beaune
  • Grape variety: Pinot Noir
  • Orientation: Northeast, medium slope

Ideal with game dishes, braised lamb chops, or aged Burgundy cheese. If enjoying it open, decant it an hour beforehand – this allows the Dominode to reveal its full depth.

Domaine Chanson

Domaine Chanson, founded in 1750, is one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in Burgundy. It is among the few estates that have survived since the 18th century. Since 1999, it has been part of the Bollinger Group, which has undertaken extensive restorations and modernizations to make the winery one of the finest in Burgundy. Nestled amidst picturesque hills, the 45 hectares of vineyards flourish in the most prestigious appellations, including Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune, and Chablis. Here, tradition and modernity blend seamlessly, creating a unique symbiosis that imparts a distinctive character to each wine. The historic Bastion, a 15th-century wine cellar, is the heart of the estate. Within these venerable walls, the wines mature to true perfection under ideal conditions. Each bottle tells a story of dedication and craftsmanship.
