Pernand Vergelesses Blanc Les Caradeux Premier Cru

A Premier Cru that shows what Pernand-Vergelesses is capable of when conditions are right: the same altitude and soil structure as the neighboring Corton-Charlemagne – only with an eastern exposure instead of southern, which gives this Chardonnay a cooler, mineral-driven signature.

Domaine Chanson is one of the oldest négociant houses in the Côte de Beaune, founded in 1750 in Beaune. The 1.90 hectares of the Les Caradeux vineyard are located on a mid-slope – classic Premier Cru terrain with a calcareous subsoil and good drainage.

Pale golden yellow in the glass. On the nose, lemon zest, white grapefruit, and ripe pear, plus a hint of toast from the barrel aging. Dense and precise on the palate: the acidity is integrated, the texture creamy without being heavy, the finish long with a salty, stony note – the hallmark of this special eastern exposure.

Serving temperature 11–13 °C.
Pairs with scallops in butter sauce, grilled turbot, Vacherin Mont-d'Or, or a mature Beaufort.

Domaine Chanson

Domaine Chanson, founded in 1750, is one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in Burgundy. It is among the few estates that have survived since the 18th century. Since 1999, it has been part of the Bollinger Group, which has undertaken extensive restorations and modernizations to make the winery one of the finest in Burgundy. Nestled amidst picturesque hills, the 45 hectares of vineyards flourish in the most prestigious appellations, including Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune, and Chablis. Here, tradition and modernity blend seamlessly, creating a unique symbiosis that imparts a distinctive character to each wine. The historic Bastion, a 15th-century wine cellar, is the heart of the estate. Within these venerable walls, the wines mature to true perfection under ideal conditions. Each bottle tells a story of dedication and craftsmanship.
