Domaine Chanson Pernand-Vergelesses Les Vergelesses Premier Cru

A Pinot Noir from the heart of the Côte de Beaune — structured, with dark fruit and the typical mineral character of Pernand-Vergelesses.

Domaine Chanson is one of the oldest négociant houses in the Côte d'Or, founded in Beaune in 1750. The estate cultivates the 5.4-hectare Premier Cru vineyard Les Vergelesses, located at the foot of the Corton hill. The clay and limestone soil gives the wine body and a cool, mineral tension that distinguishes this site from the fuller-bodied appellations further south.

In the glass, the wine displays a deep ruby red color. The nose offers ripe cherry and blackcurrant, underpinned by cassis leaves, a hint of violet, and subtle toasty notes from oak aging. On the palate, firm, well-integrated tannins, medium to full body, crisp acidity, and a lingering finish with a mineral aftertaste.

Domaine Chanson

Domaine Chanson, founded in 1750, is one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in Burgundy. It is among the few estates that have survived since the 18th century. Since 1999, it has been part of the Bollinger Group, which has undertaken extensive restorations and modernizations to make the winery one of the finest in Burgundy. Nestled amidst picturesque hills, the 45 hectares of vineyards flourish in the most prestigious appellations, including Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune, and Chablis. Here, tradition and modernity blend seamlessly, creating a unique symbiosis that imparts a distinctive character to each wine. The historic Bastion, a 15th-century wine cellar, is the heart of the estate. Within these venerable walls, the wines mature to true perfection under ideal conditions. Each bottle tells a story of dedication and craftsmanship.
