Domaine Chanson Pernand-Vergelesses Les Vergelesses Premier Cru

A Pinot Noir from the heart of the Côte de Beaune — structured, with dark fruit and the typical mineral pull of the Pernand-Vergelesses.

Domaine Chanson is one of the oldest négociant houses of the Côte d'Or, founded in 1750 in Beaune. The winery farms the 5.4-hectare Premier Cru plot Les Vergelesses directly at the foot of the Corton hill. The soil of clay and limestone gives the wine body and a cool mineral tension that distinguishes this site from the fuller appellations further south.

In the glass, the wine appears deep ruby red. On the nose, ripe cherry and black currant, underpinned by cassis leaves, a hint of violet, and subtle roasted notes from wood aging. On the palate, firm, well-integrated tannin, medium to full body, clear acidity line, and a lingering finish with a mineral aftertaste.

Domaine Chanson

Domaine Chanson, founded in 1750, is one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in Burgundy. It is among the few estates that have survived since the 18th century. Since 1999, it has been part of the Bollinger Group, which has undertaken extensive restorations and modernizations to make the winery one of the finest in Burgundy. Nestled amidst picturesque hills, the 45 hectares of vineyards flourish in the most prestigious appellations, including Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune, and Chablis. Here, tradition and modernity blend seamlessly, creating a unique symbiosis that imparts a distinctive character to each wine. The historic Bastion, a 15th-century wine cellar, is the heart of the estate. Within these venerable walls, the wines mature to true perfection under ideal conditions. Each bottle tells a story of dedication and craftsmanship.
