Pommard

Pommard in the Côte de Beaune stands for strong, structured Pinot Noir – and Domaine Chanson delivers a classic expression of this appellation with this Village wine.

Chanson is one of the oldest négociant houses in Beaune, founded in 1750, and is now owned by the Bollinger Champagne group. The estate cultivates approximately 45 hectares in the Côte de Beaune and Côte de Nuits, including several Premier Cru vineyards. The Pommard grapes come from the clay-rich limestone soils below the village – a soil structure that gives the Pinot Noir its characteristic density and tannin structure.

Deep ruby ​​red in the glass. The nose offers aromas of black cherry and blackberry, underpinned by licorice, clove, and a hint of earth. On the palate, it is medium to full-bodied with firm yet ripe tannins and lively acidity. The finish is long and spicy, with a lingering aftertaste of red fruit and elderberry.

Serving temperature: 16–18 °C. Drinking window: now until 2030. Pairs well with leg of lamb with herbs , venison ragout or mature Époisses.
