Pernand Vergelesses Blanc Les Caradeux Premier Cru

A Premier Cru that shows what Pernand-Vergelesses can do when conditions are right: same altitude and soil structure as the neighboring Corton-Charlemagne – only with an easterly exposure instead of south, which gives this Chardonnay a cooler, mineral-driven character.

Domaine Chanson is one of the oldest négociant houses in the Côte de Beaune, founded in Beaune in 1750. The 1.90 hectares of the Les Caradeux vineyard are situated on a moderate slope – classic Premier Cru terrain with a calcareous subsoil and good drainage.

Pale golden yellow in the glass. On the nose, lemon zest, white grapefruit, and ripe pear, with a hint of toast from the barrel aging. On the palate, dense and precise: the acidity is well-integrated, the texture creamy without heaviness, the finish long with a salty, stony note – characteristic of this special eastern vineyard site.

Drinking window: 2024–2030. Serving temperature 11–13 °C.
Pairs well with scallops with butter sauce, grilled turbot, Vacherin Mont-d'Or or a mature Beaufort.

Domaine Chanson

Domaine Chanson, founded in 1750, is one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in Burgundy. It is among the few estates that have survived since the 18th century. Since 1999, it has been part of the Bollinger Group, which has undertaken extensive restorations and modernizations to make the winery one of the finest in Burgundy. Nestled amidst picturesque hills, the 45 hectares of vineyards flourish in the most prestigious appellations, including Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune, and Chablis. Here, tradition and modernity blend seamlessly, creating a unique symbiosis that imparts a distinctive character to each wine. The historic Bastion, a 15th-century wine cellar, is the heart of the estate. Within these venerable walls, the wines mature to true perfection under ideal conditions. Each bottle tells a story of dedication and craftsmanship.
