Chanson Gevery-Chambertin

Gevrey-Chambertin is the northernmost large village of the Côte de Nuits – and the one with the most Grands Crus. Chanson draws his wine from a parcel on the edge of the Premiers Crus, on clay-limestone soil that gives the Pinot Noir the structure for which this appellation is famous.

Domaine Chanson is one of Burgundy's traditional négociant houses, based in Beaune. The Domaine manages its own vineyards and harvests the grapes by hand – in Gevrey-Chambertin from a hillside site that benefits from the Premiers Crus without reaching their price point.

In the glass, the wine displays a deep ruby red. The nose offers ripe blackcurrant and blackberry aromas, underpinned by clove and a hint of vanilla. On the palate, dense, well-integrated tannins with noticeable depth – not a harsh young wine, but one with substance. The finish is long, with a mineral note reminiscent of the limestone soil.

Domaine Chanson

Domaine Chanson, founded in 1750, is one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in Burgundy. It is among the few estates that have survived since the 18th century. Since 1999, it has been part of the Bollinger Group, which has undertaken extensive restorations and modernizations to make the winery one of the finest in Burgundy. Nestled amidst picturesque hills, the 45 hectares of vineyards flourish in the most prestigious appellations, including Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune, and Chablis. Here, tradition and modernity blend seamlessly, creating a unique symbiosis that imparts a distinctive character to each wine. The historic Bastion, a 15th-century wine cellar, is the heart of the estate. Within these venerable walls, the wines mature to true perfection under ideal conditions. Each bottle tells a story of dedication and craftsmanship.
