Domaine Chanson Chablis Montmains Premier Cru

The Montmains is one of the most well-known Premier Cru sites in Chablis – a slope with a high Kimmeridgian content, which gives Chardonnay a distinct minerality and structure. Domaine Chanson from Beaune, rooted in Burgundy since 1750, vinifies this wine with the goal of letting the site speak: no wood that covers, but cellar work that ensures precision.

In the glass, the Montmains shows a clear, light-golden color. On the nose, citrus blossom, green apple, and a distinct flint tone – the typical Chablis profile that comes from the chalky clay of the Kimmeridgian. On the palate, taut, lively acidity, medium body, fine salty texture. The finish is long, cool, and mineral – not a lush Burgundy style, but the clear, bone-dry signature of northern Burgundy.

With two to three years of storage, the wine gains depth. Serving temperature 10–12 °C.

Domaine Chanson

Domaine Chanson, founded in 1750, is one of the oldest and most prestigious wineries in Burgundy. It is among the few estates that have survived since the 18th century. Since 1999, it has been part of the Bollinger Group, which has undertaken extensive restorations and modernizations to make the winery one of the finest in Burgundy. Nestled amidst picturesque hills, the 45 hectares of vineyards flourish in the most prestigious appellations, including Beaune, Savigny-lès-Beaune, and Chablis. Here, tradition and modernity blend seamlessly, creating a unique symbiosis that imparts a distinctive character to each wine. The historic Bastion, a 15th-century wine cellar, is the heart of the estate. Within these venerable walls, the wines mature to true perfection under ideal conditions. Each bottle tells a story of dedication and craftsmanship.
