Camelot Sicilia DOC

Camelot Sicilia DOC
Sicily meets Bordeaux: Firriato's Camelot combines international grape varieties with the island's volcanic terroir to create a structured red wine with real depth.
Firriato is one of Sicily's leading wineries, cultivating vineyards around Mount Etna and in the west of the island. The Camelot is a classic Bordeaux blend – Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot – that demonstrates what Sicilian sun and Mediterranean soils can bring out in these grape varieties.
The nose offers dark berry fruit, cherry, and a hint of cinnamon, complemented by cocoa, eucalyptus, and dried herbs. On the palate, it is velvety and full-bodied, with lively acidity that lends the wine freshness and length. The tannins are ripe and rounded, and the finish is warm and lingering.
Serving suggestion: Serve at 16–18 °C. Pairs well with grilled lamb loin, pasta al ragù, or Pecorino Stagionato. Ready to drink, but will keep for another 2–4 years.

Firriato – a winery in Sicily, founded in 1985 by Salvatore Di Gaetano and his wife Vinizia Novara. What they have built is now one of the largest and most highly regarded wineries on the island. Six locations in western Sicily, encompassing around 300 hectares of vineyards on tuff and red sand. They produce 4.25 million bottles annually, three-quarters of which are exported to over 30 countries. Predominant grape varieties are Nero d'Avola and Grillo, along with Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Syrah. Organic farming according to "BioAgriCert" standards and a Gambero Rosso star – this is top-class Sicilian wine that you can taste.
