Ribeca Sicilia DOC

Perricone is one of Sicily's oldest grape varieties — and at the same time one of its rarest. With the Ribeca, Firriato focuses on this character: powerful, earthy, unmistakably Sicilian.

The Firriato winery has been cultivating vineyards in northwest Sicily, around Trapani and Mount Etna, since the 1980s. The Hauner family has developed the estate into one of the island's most famous flagships — with a clear focus on indigenous varieties such as Nero d'Avola, Catarratto, and, of course, Perricone.

In the glass, the Ribeca shows a deep ruby red. The nose offers blackberry, wild cherry, and dried herbs, plus notes of tobacco and forest floor. After ten months in barriques, vanilla and a hint of cedarwood are added without masking the variety-typical spice. On the palate, medium body, velvety tannins, long finish with a light peppery note.
