Ribeca Sicilia DOC

Perricone is one of Sicily's oldest grape varieties — and also one of the rarest. Firriato's Ribeca emphasizes this character: robust, earthy, unmistakably Sicilian.

The Firriato winery has been cultivating vineyards in northwestern Sicily, around Trapani and Mount Etna, since the 1980s. The Hauner family has developed the estate into one of the island's most renowned flagship wineries — with a clear focus on indigenous varieties such as Nero d'Avola, Catarratto and, of course, Perricone.

In the glass, the Ribeca displays a deep ruby red color. The nose offers blackberry, wild cherry, and dried herbs, along with notes of tobacco and forest floor. After ten months in barriques, vanilla and a hint of cedar emerge, without overpowering the varietal's characteristic spiciness. On the palate, it is medium-bodied with velvety tannins and a long finish with a subtle peppery note.
