Quater Vitis Bianco Terre Siciliane IGT

Quater Vitis Bianco Terre Siciliane IGT
Four indigenous Sicilian grape varieties in one glass – that's the concept behind Firriato's Quater Vitis Bianco . The wine combines grapes from two very different terroirs: the limestone hills near Trapani in the west and the volcanic basalt soil of Mount Etna in the east.
Firriato is one of the most famous wineries in Sicily and has been focusing for years on the rehabilitation of native grape varieties such as Catarratto, Grillo, Carricante and Grecanico – varieties that embody the Mediterranean climate and the mineral soil of the island.
In the glass, the Bianco displays a vibrant citrus structure with notes of blood orange, ripe pineapple, and a hint of mango. The acidity is present but integrated; the finish is fresh and slightly salty – a typical sign of volcanic minerality. Medium-bodied, no oak aging, direct and very drinkable.
Serving temperature 10–12 °C. Pairs well with grilled calamari, pasta with bottarga, or a light goat cheese. Best enjoyed young – within the next one to two years.

Firriato – a winery in Sicily, founded in 1985 by Salvatore Di Gaetano and his wife Vinizia Novara. What they have built is now one of the largest and most highly regarded wineries on the island. Six locations in western Sicily, encompassing around 300 hectares of vineyards on tuff and red sand. They produce 4.25 million bottles annually, three-quarters of which are exported to over 30 countries. Predominant grape varieties are Nero d'Avola and Grillo, along with Cabernet Sauvignon, Chardonnay, and Syrah. Organic farming according to "BioAgriCert" standards and a Gambero Rosso star – this is top-class Sicilian wine that you can taste.
