Firriato Bayamore Rosso di Rossi Terre Siciliane IGT
Sicily in its sun-ripened form: The Bayamore Rosso di Rossi combines Nero d'Avola, Nerello Mascalese and Syrah into a wine that combines the volcanic power of the island with Mediterranean warmth.
Firriato has been one of the leading wineries in western Sicily since the 1990s. The Ferreri family cultivates vineyards between Trapani and Mount Etna, focusing on indigenous grape varieties such as Nero d'Avola and Nerello Mascalese, complemented by international varieties like Syrah. Six months of aging in barriques give the Bayamore structure without masking its southern fruit character.
In the glass, it shines ruby red with violet reflections. The nose reveals black cherry, ripe blackberry, and a hint of cardamom. On the palate, powerful yet supple tannins, beneath which lies a warm body with subtle notes of wood spice and a finish reminiscent of dark chocolate and licorice.
