Winzerkeller Sommerach Silvaner QbA dry
Franken-Silvaner in its most direct form: fresh, dry, down-to-earth – a wine for everyday life without compromises in craftsmanship.
The Sommerach wine cellar is one of Franconia's traditional winegrowers' cooperatives, located near the Main River. The region is the classic home of Silvaner – a combination of shell limestone and Keuper soil that gives the wine its typical spicy, earthy character.
In the glass, it displays a clear straw yellow color. The nose is restrained and fresh: Granny Smith apple, a hint of citrus, and a touch of herbal spice. On the palate, it is lean and dry, with lively acidity and a short, clean finish. Not an opulent wine – but an honest, effortless everyday companion.
Serving suggestion: Well chilled at 10–12 °C. Pairs well with asparagus with hollandaise sauce, goat cheese, light charcuterie boards, or as a simple aperitif on the patio. Drink now, no aging potential.

Winzer Sommerach is the oldest winegrowers' cooperative in Franconia – founded in 1901 by 35 winegrowing families who joined forces to survive during a time of phylloxera infestation and plummeting prices. Today, 90 families carry on this tradition, cultivating around 200 hectares on the Main River loop and tending the Sommeracher Katzenkopf vineyard, one of the most important sites in the region. Their motto, "High standards make the difference," is not just a slogan: every bottle can be traced back to a specific winegrower and their vineyard – transparency and community as a lived principle for over 120 years.
