Redoma Rosé

The Redoma Rosé from Niepoort is not a summer drink for quick drinking — it is a serious rosé from the Douro that surprises with aging time and depth.

Niepoort, the renowned family winery from Vila Nova de Gaia, is known for its unconventional wines: port wines with attitude, Douro red wines with Burgundy character. The Redoma line stands for artisanal vinification with indigenous grape varieties — demanding wines that show the Douro Valley in its mineral depth.

In the glass, it glows in a light, lively pink. The bouquet opens slowly: initially reserved, then red berry fruits — raspberry, pomegranate —, plus herbs, a floral touch, and mineral-smoky notes that remind one of the slate-rich soil of the Douro. On the palate, it surprises with body and texture that one rarely finds in a rosé. Good fruit acidity keeps everything in balance, the finish is long and mineral.

Drinking temperature: 12–14 °C.
Goes well with oysters, grilled sea bass, chicken with herbs, or a gratin with mature mountain cheese.
