Korem IGT Isola dei Nuraghi Bovale 1.5L

The Korem from Argiolas is a Sardinian red wine with dark fruit, herbal depth, and lively acidity. This magnum (1.5 l) is suitable for larger tables and long evenings.

Argiolas is one of the defining wineries of Sardinia. The Korem is made from Bovale Sardo, an indigenous grape variety of the island, and carries the IGT Isola dei Nuraghi designation of origin. The 2023 vintage was warm, but a cooler phase during the harvest preserved freshness and acidity structure while the grapes fully ripened.

In the glass, it glows ruby red with a garnet shimmer. In the nose, blackberry and myrtle berry dominate, along with fresh herbs, undergrowth, dark spices, and coffee, with a hint of vanilla in the background. On the palate, it is dry and full-bodied, with present, finely integrated tannins, lively acidity, and distinct spice. In the long finish, red fruits and balsamic herbal notes emerge.

Recommendation: Braised lamb dishes, grilled meat with Mediterranean herbs, or aged Pecorino. Serve it at about 16–18 °C.

The Winery

Argiolas

Argiolas – the cradle of the Sardinian wine renaissance. Founded in 1938 by Antonio Argiolas in Serdiana, the 230-hectare winery is managed today in the third generation by his grandchildren. Antonio was ahead of his time: larger vineyard areas, focus on quality.

With oenologist legend Giacomo Tachis as a consultant, the sons invested in modernization. Only indigenous grape varieties are cultivated – many almost forgotten. Vermentino, Cannonau, Monica, Carignano – the Mediterranean climate gives them ideal conditions.

The highlight: Turriga, regularly awarded 3 glasses in the Gambero Rosso. Sardinian, elegant, international. Over 2 million bottles annually – Sardinian wine culture for the world.
